Dear Chamber Members,
Please see below a press release from RI Commerce Corporation announcing the roll out of the Restore RI Grant Program. Detailed information on applying for this grant, including eligibility requirements, grant amounts and more, is available at www.CommerceRI.com.
In order to ensure that all small businesses have an equitable shot at applying for this first come, first serve program – the application period will open Monday. We encourage all businesses to begin the process of collecting the necessary documentation for application as soon as possible.
One component of the requirements that is critically important in preparing to apply is locating the Federal DUNS number. Below is information re: acquiring a DUNS number.
The Dun & Bradstreet D‑U‑N‑S Number is a unique nine-digit identifier for businesses. Visit https://link.edgepilot.com/s/88da24d0/DwIKf8nln02Z5KxWmFxEmQ?u=https://www.dnb.com/duns-number/lookup.html
Create a DUNS number. As a requirement of the CARES Act, grant recipients are required to have a DUNS number. A DUNS number is a unique nine-character number used to identify your organization. The federal government uses the DUNS number to track how federal money is allocated. If you do not already have a DUNS number you can apply for a free number online. For more information on the DUNS number and how to apply for one, please visit here. Please note that receiving a DUNS number may take up to 2 days.
We encourage all businesses planning to apply for this grant to begin the process as soon as possible. We will be sharing helpful information and guidance regarding this program with membership in the days and weeks ahead.
