USMCA:   United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement

The new USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement) went into effect on July 1, 2020, replacing the 25-year old NAFTA. The goal of the USMCA is to support mutually beneficial trade leading to freer markets, fairer trade, and robust economic growth in North America. While similar in many ways to NAFTA, the new agreement contains some important changes, both in terms of product classification and documentation as well as protections. Important updates addressed in the new agreement include Intellectual Property, Digital Trade, De Minimus, Financial Services, Currency, Labor and Environment.

Session 1: USMCA Overview & Qualifying Your Goods

This session will provide expert guidance to help you understand USMCA, its
enhancements and changes, including: implementation updates and timing, important changes to the agreement, how to qualify your goods and how to navigate rules of origin.

Session 2: How to Prepare USMCA Documentation

Beginning on July 1 there are new documentation and origin procedural changes.
This session will cover these new requirements, including how to prepare new
certificates of origin and the responsibilities of both the supplier and the buyer.
